Retrieve Missing Partitions on Windows 7

Partition is a part or section of the hard disk where you can store data. Each partition of hard drive serves as a separate hard drive. Partitioning a hard drive in Windows 7 OS is a better way to organize the data in a proper manner. Generally, hard disk has two partitions, one is for operating systems and software and another is for data. Due to some problems, if the partition where you have installed the operating system, software and saved the data, get corrupt then you may not able to boot the system along with that you may also lose data. So, to avoid this problem you are supposed to create multiple partitions on the hard drive. Each partition has separate boot sector, which tells information to partition table, whereas partition table is common to all partitions. While partitioning, you can select either FAT or NTFS file system. Most of the times, NTFS is preferred because NTFS tries to store data in a defragmented manner and the performance is higher compared to FAT. While creating partition using third party utilities, you may come across partition errors, which may lead to partition loss. You can use partition recovery software for retrieving files from missing partition on Windows.

Sometimes, when you try to create another partition using a third party utility then it may display error messages like “Not enough space” or “could not allocate or de-allocate memory”. These error messages make the existing partition inaccessible. In a few cases, installing multiple operating system may lead to partition corruption which will not allow you to access the data from it. Sometimes, converting one file system to another file system i.e. from FAT to NTFS may result in data loss. Generally, conversion can be done in one way using convert.exe utility. Once you have converted the partition from FAT to NTFS then you cannot convert it back i.e. from NTFS to FAT. If you want to restore partition to FAT file system, then you need to re-format the entire partition which may result in partition loss.

Before executing convert.exe command, you are supposed to create backups of important files from the partition which is to be converted so that you can later restore your data back. If you don’t have a backup then the best solution is to use recovery software to recover deleted or lost partition. While choosing recovery software, make sure that the software is read only means, which should not overwrite the data while recovering deleted or lost partition. Software to recover deleted partition is such a tool, which can also to restore deleted partition tables.

Partition recovery software is the most reliable tool which recovers lost data even after re-installing windows operating system. This software has an ability to recover lost data from formatted or deleted RAID0, RAID1 and RAID5 partition. FAT16, FAT32, NTFS, NTFS5 and ExtFAT are the different file systems supported by this software. This software has an ability to recognize and recover all types of file based on their unique signature. If some files are not listed, then you can also add or edit the signatures for files. The trial version of this software provides you an option, where you can view recovered data. To recover data deleted from Mac volume, make use of Mac partition recovery software. This software has the capability to restore volume deleted from MacBook Pro and other MacBook versions.
